When I first started turning pens, pencils and keychains, it was just as a hobby, something to do that was relaxing and rewarding. But after showing them to friends and family, they were asking if I could make them one. So I decided to start my own business.

I take great pride in my pens and key chains. Each pen, pencil and key chain is given a thorough inspection before it comes off my lathe.

Pens, Pencils and Keychains

My pens, pencils and keychains come in a variety of woods, both domestic and exotic. You can choose from:

Here are just a few of the pens, pencils and key rings

that I have recently turned on my lathe.

  • oak
  • cherry
  • maple
  • walnut
  • Bloodwood
  • Purpleheart
  • Cocobolo
  • Zebrawood
If you would like a different kind of wood, let me know and I will see if I can get it.

Another option is acrylic as it comes in a wide range of colors. While there are many many colors to choose from, there are just to many to list. Here is a link to a website that will show many of the different colors available. Some of my favorite colors are:
  • CopperHaze
  • Fire and Ice
  • Shamrock
  • Pittsburgh

COMMENTS:

  • "I recently purchased a multi exotic wood keychain from PensbyShort and I’ve received so many compliments on it. It’s eye-catching, and when you look closely at it, the craftsmanship is precise and meticulous. It is unique and beautiful! In the future, I plan to purchase more items for myself and to give as gifts."

  • "I love my acrylic pen that I purchased.  It is actually my favorite pen.  It is the only pen I own that feels very comfortable in my hand when I am using is.  I have even purchased some for my children so that they would stop taking mine.  I also purchased a wooden pen and pencil set for my mother as a gift and she loves them.  She said that they are the only ones that she will use now. "
